In Yatta, Machakos District, tragedy occurred after two students drowned in the open grounds of Kionyweni Primary School.

According to reliable sources, yesterday, two 6th and 7th grade students drowned in the underground sink belonging to Kionyweni Elementary School. However, the police arrived and lifted the two bodies from the water to the morgue. However, the drowning student's condition was not disclosed and the police began investigating the tragic event.

This horrific incident has raised many concerns about child safety measures, especially in schools. Sharing photos from the crime scene, the tank killer can be seen publicly and unsafely, risking his life.

All schools should have the legal right to maintain appropriate security procedures to keep students safe. Here are some comments:

@Fautine Ngayah: This tank took many lives and now my cousin is missing...

@Francis Ndolo; Sad Indeed... these underground tanks should be fenced to keep off pupils and evade such calamities. I remember similar incident pale Kilaatu primary school...May the young men who would have been the future leaders of this globe, rest in eternal peace. Poleni Sana to the affected families.

@Virginia Wavinya: So sad, rip.
