KDF Announces Recruitment Drive in August and September

The Ministry of Defence in Kenya has recently announced new recruitment opportunities into the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF). These recruitments will be taking place in August and September 2023, with various positions available for interested candidates. Recruitment Opportunities:

The KDF is seeking to hire candidates for the following positions:

1. General Service Officer (GSO) Cadets (Regular and Graduate degree holders)
2. Specialist Officers
3. General Duty Recruits
4. Tradesmen/women
5. Defence Forces Constables

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for these positions, candidates must meet the following requirements:

1. Age: Candidates for GSO Cadets and General Duty Recruits must be between 18 and 26 years old. Specialist Officers and Tradesmen/women must not exceed 30 years of age. Chaplains/Imams must be below 39 years of age.
2. Physical Requirements: Minimum height for men is 1.60m (5ft 3in) and for women is 1.52m (5ft). The minimum weight for men is 54.55 kg and for women is 50.00 kg.
3. Medical Fitness: Candidates must be medically fit and have healthy skin devoid of large or deep scars and tattoos. Female candidates must not be pregnant at the time of recruitment and during the entire duration of training.
4. Experience: Specialist Officers and Tradesmen/women should have a minimum of two years of practicing experience in their field of specialization.

Recruitment Process:

Interested candidates for Specialist Officers and Tradesmen/women vacancies must apply online. The deadline for applications is August 20, 2023. Shortlisted candidates will be notified through the print media between September 17 to 24, 2023.

KDF recruiting teams from the Kenya Army, the Kenya Air Force, and the Kenya Navy will be visiting recruitment centers on various dates to recruit General Service Officer (GSO) Cadets, General Service Officer Cadets - Graduate degree holders, General Duty Recruits, and Defence Forces Constabulary.
