August 10, 2023

Tory Lanez, the convicted rapper, has finally broken his silence following his sentencing of 10 years for the shooting incident involving his former friend, Megan Thee Stallion. In a recent Instagram post on August 10th, Lanez addressed his fans, who he refers to as the "Umbrellas," and assured them that he will be back despite his lengthy sentence. Lanez maintained his innocence and continued to deny any involvement in the matter.

Lanez began his post by stating, "I have never let a hard time intimidate me. I will never let jail time eliminate me." Firmly standing by his innocence, he expressed that despite facing adversity throughout his life, he has always managed to come out on top. Lanez acknowledged that during the court proceedings, he admitted to his interactions with the parties involved but asserted that he was not apologizing for the charges he believes he was wrongfully convicted of.

Facing yet another challenging moment, Lanez made it clear that he refuses to stop fighting until he emerges victorious. He expressed gratitude to his family, friends, and Umbrellas for their unwavering support and concluded the post with the phrase, "See you soon."

In related news, it has been reported that Lanez will have approximately 305 days deducted from his sentence due to time already served. This includes 231 days spent in jail and a 15% credit for an additional 34 days. Additionally, he will receive credit for 40 days of house arrest. It is worth noting that Lanez plans to request bail pending appeal, but the likelihood of it being granted is considered extremely low.

Deputy D.A. Kathy Ta emphasized the power it took for Megan Thee Stallion to come forward after enduring such trauma and being vilified online. While Lanez continues to maintain his innocence, Megan Thee Stallion's willingness to confront the situation is acknowledged as a courageous act.

As this story unfolds, the hip hop community and fans alike eagerly await further developments.
